HCA Phlebotomist for Health Checks taking heart rate and blood pressure checks and inputting result data on the system.

Responsible for drawing the two blood samples, labelling and storing correctly in fixed and mobile locations.

Checking the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating as required.

Offering signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant.

Responsible for preparing boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier.

Minimum of one year’s active experience drawing blood (validated through competency checklist and references during recruitment process).

Providing the participant with any information based on tests undertaken (where applicable).

Appointment Procedure

  • Confirm participant identity
  • Verify participant consent
  • Complete tests: Blood pressure measures and heart rate (x2); height; weight; waist circumference
  • Obtain venous blood draw (2 x 6 ml EDTA samples)
