We are looking for HCAs/Phlebotomists competent in Phlebotomy (must have certificate or competency sign off) for the following locum contract.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be able to drive a manual vehicle
- Must be over 25 years old
- Hold a clean Drivers Licence
Shift Pattern:
- Monday – Friday: 07:50 - 18:10
- Saturday: No scheduled appointments, maybe introduced further on in the project.
- Sunday: 10:50 - 15:55
To start: January 2027
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for re-confirming participant details before commencement of appointment
- Responsible for completing height, weight and waist measurements captured; taking heart rate and blood pressure checks and inputting result data on the system
- Responsible for drawing the two blood samples, labelling and storing correctly in fixed and mobile locations
- Checking the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating as required
- Offering signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant
- Responsible for preparing boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier
- Minimum of one year’s active experience drawing blood (validated through competency checklist and references during recruitment process)
- Providing the participant with any information based on tests undertaken (where applicable)
Appointment Procedure:
- Confirm participant identity
- Verify participant consent
- Complete tests: Blood pressure measures and heart rate (x2); height; weight; waist circumference
- Obtain venous blood draw (2 x 6 ml EDTA samples)
