We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer with a strong background in land systems or armoured platforms to support a complex defence land programme. This is a short-term contract (23 months) with strong potential for extension, based on-site in Coventry, with occasional travel to programme and stakeholder locations across the UK.

Role Overview:

Working as part of a specialist delivery team, you will provide safety engineering oversight across the lifecycle of modified land platforms, ensuring hazards are effectively managed, safety evidence is maintained, and risks are mitigated. You will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and technical stakeholders, providing expert advice on safety and risk management throughout design, integration, and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Initiation
  • Review project documentation including Safety Strategy, Safety Requirements, Project Plan, and base vehicle configurations
  • Produce an Annex to the Safety Management Plan / Engineering Management Plan
