About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician (Level 3 / NVQ equivalent) to join our warranty rework team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for stripping down, investigating, and rebuilding engines from vehicles returned to our Warranty warehouse. These engines will often come from customer vehicles/dealerships with warranty issues that require detailed investigation, heavy mechanical rework, and precise rebuilds. You will be at the heart of our quality and engineering improvement process, not only rebuilding engines but also providing valuable feedback to ensure issues are resolved and product reliability continues to improve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip down, inspect, and rebuild engines in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Carry out heavy mechanical rework to address identified issues.
  • Work on engines from prototype and customer vehicles returned under warranty.
  • Investigate root causes of mechanical failures and defects.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues and improve future builds.
  • Accurately record inspection findings, test results, and rework outcomes using internal reporting systems.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency within the workshop.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
  • Proven hands-on experience with engine builds, strip-downs, and mechanical overhauls.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engine components.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic and inspection tools.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings, build manuals, and specifications.
  • Confident using basic IT tools for recording work, test data, and outcomes.
  • A methodical, detail-focused approach with a commitment to quality.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a prototype or warranty investigation environment.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge engines and vehicles.
  • A varied and challenging workload with direct impact on product quality.
  • Competitive pay and contract terms.
  • Supportive, skilled team environment.

If you are a highly skilled Vehicle Technician with a passion for problem-solving and precision, we would love to hear from you. Apply now and be part of the team driving continuous improvement in our engines.
