Supplier Development Engineer

Benefits Key Information Include: £45.00 - £50.00 per hour (Outside IR35, LTD/Umbrella Payrate) Travel accommodation provided Contract starting 2nd November 2026 Approximate 6 month contract with potential for extension Initial onboarding in Warwick before relocating to Motherwell/Cumbernauld High-impact supplier quality improvement programme This is a hands-on Supplier Quality role focused on recovering supplier performance and driving sustainable manufacturing improvements. We're looking for someone who has personally led quality turnarounds, not simply supported them. Role Overview You will take the lead on a supplier quality improvement programme, initially spending time in Warwick to understand the product and build relationships before relocating to the supplier site in Motherwell. Working closely with production, quality and supplier teams, you will identify issues, implement corrective actions and drive quality performance through to closure. This is a hands-on Supplier Quality role focused on improving supplier performance and driving sustainable manufacturing improvements. We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality professional with a proven track record of delivering quality improvements within a production environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead supplier quality improvement and recovery activities Facilitate 8D investigations and root cause analysis Develop and improve PFMEAs and Control Plans Create SOPs, work instructions and inspection standards Support PPAP activities, ideally including Level 3 submissions Define critical characteristics from engineering drawings and specifications Implement improvements directly on the shop floor Manage multiple quality actions through to closure Essential Experience: Proven supplier quality turnaround experience within manufacturing Strong Supplier Quality, Supplier Development or STA background Hands-on experience leading 8D investigations and corrective actions Experience developing PFMEAs, Control Plans and work instructions PPAP knowledge and submission experience Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications Track record of delivering measurable supplier performance improvements If you're an experienced Supplier Quality professional with a background in supplier development, STA or quality improvement and are looking for your next contract challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
