We're looking for a De-Snag Painter with a strong eye for detail and real pride in finish quality. This role sits at the final stage of production, making sure vehicles are completed to a high standard before they move on. You'll be working on large commercial refuse vehicles, carrying out detailed cosmetic repairs and ensuring any imperfections are corrected before sign-off. The role requires patience, accuracy, and the ability to work around fully built vehicles where access can be tight and surfaces need careful handling.

Typical work will include:

  • Identifying and rectifying paint defects such as runs, dry spray, contamination, scratches, and minor damage
  • Carrying out localised repairs and blending to achieve a consistent finish
  • Masking areas correctly to protect surrounding components during repair work
  • Flatting, polishing, and preparing surfaces to restore paint quality
  • Inspecting vehicles thoroughly to ensure all snags are corrected before release
  • Working around fully assembled refuse vehicles, including body panels, chassis areas, and hoppers
  • Ensuring all work meets strict quality standards at final inspection stage

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in paint production, de-snagging, or vehicle refinishing
  • Experience working on commercial vehicles (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation and defect correction
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • Good understanding of health & safety in a paint environment
  • High attention to detail and pride in finish quality
  • Comfortable working in confined or awkward positions around large vehicles

Why this role works:

  • Hands-on, varied work with full vehicles
  • Responsibility for final quality before dispatch
  • Opportunity to develop finishing and repair skills
  • Overtime available when required
