Vehicle Technician Engine Build & Warranty Rework
Location: Contract/Permanent: Ongoing Contract
Pay Rate/Salary: Outside IR35 - £24.00 per hour
Monday-Friday
Shifts: Mon-Thurs 7.00am-3.30pm, Fri 7.00am-12pm (Overtime occasionally available)
We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician (Level 3 / NVQ equivalent) to join our warranty rework team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for stripping down, investigating, and rebuilding engines from vehicles returned to our Warranty warehouse. These engines will often come from customer vehicles/dealerships with warranty issues that require detailed investigation, heavy mechanical rework, and precise rebuilds.
You will be at the heart of our quality and engineering improvement process not only rebuilding engines but also providing valuable feedback to ensure issues are resolved and product reliability continues to improve.
- Strip down, inspect, and rebuild engines in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out heavy mechanical rework to address identified issues.
- Investigate root causes of mechanical failures and defects.
- Accurately record inspection findings, test results, and rework outcomes using internal reporting systems.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency within the workshop.
Requirements:
- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
- Proven hands-on experience with engine builds, strip-downs, and mechanical overhauls.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engine components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic and inspection tools.
- Able to interpret technical drawings, build manuals, and specifications.
- Confident using basic IT tools for recording work, test data, and outcomes.
- A methodical, detail-focused approach with a commitment to quality.
