Clinical Responsibilities

In accordance with the practice timetable, the GP will be available for surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and addressing administrative queries. The GP will make autonomous decisions for presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred by other health care workers. The GP will undertake on‑call duty on a rota basis with other GPs. The GP will assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, develop care plans in line with current disease‑management protocols, provide counselling and health education, admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload, and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
