The purpose of the role is to:
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
- Provide general clerical support to the practice manager, doctors and health professionals.
Meddygfa Emlyn is looking for a Practice Receptionist to work with us for a fixed term of 6 months to cover maternity leave. Good communication skills required. IT skills an advantage, however full training will be provided. Welsh speaking desirable but not essential. Friendly Practice located in the rural area of Newcastle Emlyn. We are a partnership of five doctors together with 3 salaried doctors, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a full health care team of practice nurses, community nurses, pharmacist, health visitor and midwives, assisted by our administrative staff.
