The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 £ per hour.

Phlebotomist required to join our nursing team. 12-16 hours per week, morning shifts preferably 8-12 or 9-1. 5 days a week but can be flexible on hours and days for the right candidate. We are a small close knit practice with just over 6K patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify their identity, explain the blood draw procedure, and offer reassurance to calm anxiety.
  • Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture (drawing blood from veins) or finger sticks using sterile equipment and aseptic techniques.
  • Specimen Handling: Label tubes accurately with patient info, prepare samples for testing (e.g., in appropriate tubes), and ensure timely delivery to the lab.
  • Record Keeping: Update patient records and log sample information into databases.
  • Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace, follow strict infection control policies, and properly dispose of medical instruments.

Richmond Clinic is a 6000 patient practice in the St Julians area of Newport, close to M4 j25, easy commute from Cardiff, Bristol or Monmouthshire. Traditional, GP-led (4 partners, 3.25 WTE) practice, excellent work-life balance. Good management, admin and nursing support, very low turnover of staff.
