Mount Surgery is looking to recruit one or more Salaried GPs. Work-life balance is essential to us, and the Practice and Partners pride themselves on their flexible attitude to working patterns. Mount Surgery has strong links to Swansea University Medical School, as well as being a training practice for GP Registrars. We also employ a broad range of support staff including Nurses, Pharmacy Technicians and Physicians Associates, with exceptional staff retention throughout the whole practice.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide consultations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients.
  • Manage long-term conditions and provide preventive healthcare.
  • Prescribe medications and refer patients to specialists when needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete necessary documentation.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
  • Support training and supervision of junior staff, if required.
  • Adhere to NHS Wales and GMC professional standards.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Experience in primary care and managing a full range of clinical conditions; Teamwork in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting; Familiarity with EMIS and electronic health records; Special interests, e.g. women's health, minor surgery, mental health; Teaching or mentoring medical students or junior staff.
  • Qualifications: Medical Degree MBBS or equivalent; Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC); Inclusion on the GMC GP Register; Inclusion on the Welsh Medical Performers List; Right to Work in the UK; Safeguarding training Level 3; Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
