Our Medical Receptionists perform a varied range of duties in order to support the day to day operation of the Practice. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the face and voice of our surgery.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining a high standard of patient care, whether this be on the telephone, or via our online eConsult system.
- Deal with patient enquiries including registering patients, explaining surgery procedures and giving general advice relating to non-clinical issues.
- Collect and record dispensing/private fees and provide receipts where applicable.
- Making sure the reception desk is attended at all times.
- Opening and closing premises when necessary.
- Working as part of a wider administrative team.
- Any other duties appropriate to the post as designated by the Partners.

Our team comprises of a brilliant and welcoming group of receptionists, administration staff, managers, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and a pharmacy team who are all here to help look after our patients in the local area.
Job responsibilities
There's a lot more to the role than just booking appointments. You will work closely with all our roles in the practice, GP's, managers, nurses, other clinical staff and of course the general public. We are a practice with just under 11,000 patients. We are looking for someone to join us who is reliable, committed, enthusiastic, caring, who can work well under pressure and changing circumstances. You must be able to work as part of a team and act on your own initiative also.
Qualifications
Experience using computer based systems and customer service skills. Previous GP or NHS experience.
