We are a well-established friendly and forward-thinking practice who are committed to high quality care and the continued development of our practice team. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join us for 6 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
- Manage patient caseloads and deal with a wide range of health needs, face to face and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Work as part of a team, supporting other team members by sharing clinical knowledge and experience.

Job responsibilities
- Undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face and telephone consultations, queries and where applicable visiting patients at home.
- Checking and signing electronic repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers/organisations.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols and developing care plans for health.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards and read codes.
- Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Prescribing in accordance with practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- Adhering to Practice policies and procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to GDPR and confidentiality.
- Adhering to equality and diversity.
Person Specification
- Experience in General Practice and working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of working alone.
- Experience of undertaking audit in General Practice.
- Team skills - ability to communicate with, support and motivate.
- Self-motivated, flexible and can meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise work but aware of own limitations.
- Able to provide evidence-based solutions to problems/issues.
- Genuine commitment to improve quality in Primary Care.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of GMS contract.
- Initiative and Innovation.
Qualifications
- GMC registration.
- Currently on the national GP register.
- Certificate in prescribed experience.
- BMA membership.
- Evidence of other specialist interest/development/training.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
