Work as part of our friendly and dynamic team. We are a high QAIF achieving practice, sharing clinical knowledge and experience in a rural GP Practice which supports undergraduate teaching from Cardiff University. We also commit to the local Community Hospital in Dolgellau.

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Main duties of the job:
  • Manage patient caseloads and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting and undertake additional professional roles and responsibilities as agreed at appointment.
  • Ensure awareness, compliance and undertaking of all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
  • The successful applicant should also effectively communicate and respect the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues, and behave in a welcoming manner that is non-judgmental to the individual, respecting their circumstances, feelings, priorities and rights.

About us: Located in sunny Barmouth, where the mountains meet the sea. Minfor Surgery is a seaside town with plenty to offer. There are two Clinical Partners and a non-clinical Managing Partner, a list size of 4100 patients. A friendly, flexible and relaxed team.

Job responsibilities:

Salaried GP: At Minfor Surgery, Park Road, Barmouth, Gwynedd, LL42 1PL. Hours of work: 4 - 6 Sessions a week. There are no OOH commitments but sessions are available locally through the LHB.

Role Summary and Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary, very high QAIF achieving team sharing clinical knowledge and experience in a rural GP Practice which supports undergraduate teaching from Cardiff University.
  • Manage patient caseloads and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting and undertake additional professional roles and responsibilities as agreed at appointment.
  • Ensure awareness, compliance and undertaking of all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.

6 weeks with pro rata bank holiday entitlement.

Other terms and conditions: As per those described in the BMA GPC Focus on Salaried GPs document. The Contract of Employment is based upon the BMA model Contract of Employment document.

Person Specification:

Experience: Experience of working within GP practice.

Qualifications: Disclosure and Barring Service Check. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
