We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a global engineering and manufacturing business operating at the forefront of fluid‑flow technology and advanced engineered solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong quality professional to play a key role within a fast‑paced production and project environment, supporting product quality, inspection activities, compliance, and continuous improvement across complex manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure products, processes, and documentation meet stringent industry and customer quality standards. The role will primarily be based in Droitwich, with occasional travel required to supplier sites for inspections and quality‑related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee incoming, in‑process, and final inspection activities
  • Carry out dimensional inspections against GA drawings, isometrics, and engineering specifications
  • Support pressure testing, torque verification, flow direction checks, tagging, and quality verification activities
  • Review and coordinate NDT activities including VT, PT/MT, RT/UT where applicable
  • Provide technical guidance and support to inspection teams to ensure consistent quality standards
Standards, Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure builds comply with ISO9001, engineering standards, P&IDs, isometrics, and applicable industry codes
  • Maintain traceability records, calibration controls, and quality documentation
  • Create and manage ITPs, inspection checklists, weld maps, NCRs, concessions, and corrective actions
  • Produce and maintain quality documentation including FAT/SAT reports, material certifications, NDT reports, and test records
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead NCR and CAPA activities using structured methodologies including 5 Whys and Ishikawa
  • Support SPC analysis, defect reduction activities, and first‑pass yield improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support manufacturability improvements across production processes
  • Feed quality and process improvements back into engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Work closely with production, assembly, welding, and engineering teams to support quality standards
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide clear visibility of quality risks and status updates
  • Support client and third‑party inspections, managing witness points and quality concerns professionally
Requirements
  • Previous experience within a Quality Engineering role within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or modular construction environments
  • Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Experience with precision measurement equipment, pressure testing, and quality inspection methods
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and quality documentation controls
  • Familiarity with welding quality standards, material traceability, and NDT methods
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with experience supporting NCR, CAPA, and continuous improvement activities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working closely with shop floor teams, suppliers, and external inspectors
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or similar)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Knowledge of PED/UKCA, ASME piping standards, pressure testing standards, or ATEX environments
  • Familiarity with E&I testing including continuity testing, loop checks, and VFD setup basics
  • Experience using QMS systems such as EtQ, Intelex, or Jira
