We are currently recruiting for experienced Auto Electricians to support a prototype vehicle programme, carrying out the initial software installation and commissioning of pre‑production vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a cutting‑edge automotive development environment on the latest vehicle technology.
The Role
- You will be responsible for supporting prototype vehicle builds through electrical integration, software loading, and advanced diagnostic activity.
Key duties
- Carrying out first‑stage software installation into prototype vehicles
- Using Corvus to load and configure vehicle software
- Problem solving through diagnostic software and specialist vehicle diagnostic systems
- Using VCATS, Corvus, CANalyzer, and Snapshot tools for fault finding and software updates
- ECU flashing, updates, and module configuration
- Electrical fault finding on vehicle systems, wiring, and components
- Supporting prototype build teams with commissioning activities
- Validating vehicle functions following software installation
- Recording work completed and reporting issues accurately
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Auto Electrician within automotive environments
- Experience working on prototype, pre‑production, or development vehicles preferred
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics
- Proven experience using specialist diagnostic software
- Experience using VCATS, Corvus, CANalyzer, and Snapshot tools (critical skill)
- ECU flashing / software integration experience
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical information
- Strong fault‑finding, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
- Previous OEM or vehicle manufacturer experience advantageous
