We are seeking a skilled Mill Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabrication and mechanical knowledge, with experience in operating milling machines and handling various materials. This role requires proficiency in using programmable logic controllers and CAD software, including SolidWorks, to ensure precision in manufacturing processes. The Mill Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Pay: £14 per hour

Job Type: Full Time

Duties:

  • Operate milling machines and other fabrication equipment to produce components as per specifications
  • Set up and adjust tooling and fixtures for machining operations
  • Utilise programmable logic controllers to monitor and control machine functions
  • Perform quality checks on finished products using basic math skills to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members during assembly processes and assist with welding tasks when necessary
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and report any issues to management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in milling, fabrication, or similar roles within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for design purposes
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and materials handling practices
