WEC Group, established for over 45 years and one of the North West's leading & multi award winning engineering, fabrication and machining companies, requires an Assistant Accountant for their Head Office Finance Division. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual, who wishes to progress within a successful, dynamic and rapidly expanding business. Duties and responsibilities are anticipated to evolve with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Fixed Asset registers for various Group companies, recording additions, disposals and periodic depreciation.
  • Maintain Capital Expenditure Approval Register, ensuring full coverage of spend.
  • Prepare daily and monthly Bank Reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post monthly Journal Entries.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a busy Accounts Department.
  • Background in bookkeeping and core accounting disciplines, including related academic qualifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast paced, changeable environment.
  • Sound understanding of controls and authorisation procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The flexibility to be self-motivated and also able to work well in a small team.
