An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our UK team as Inventory Planner, based at our office in Wellington, Somerset. This role is office based.
You will play a key role in managing and maintaining stock levels to ensure customer demand is met at the right time while minimising inventory costs. You will manage the warehouse staff, conduct regular audits, analyse supply chain data, assess the quality of vendors and forecast future supply needs.
This role is based in the office full-time at Wellington, Somerset.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices to maintain accurate stock levels, minimize overstock situations and accurately report the status of stock eg value, ageing.
- Analyse sales patterns, customer demand, and seasonal fluctuations to forecast inventory needs and ensure optimal stock levels across all product lines.
- Review documentation and monitor product codes to identify discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records
- Coordinate with purchasing and supply chain related depts to order products and materials, ensuring timely deliveries to meet inventory requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand promotional activities and product launches
- Perform regular inventory audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions to resolve issues and improve accuracy.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms to achieve favorable conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and minimum order quantities.
- Monitor and proactively manage stock ageing and ensure the timely reporting of its status
- Supervise the warehouse operatives and support the unloading of stock adhocly when required
- Work with the Wellington Office Site lead to ensure health and safety standards are reviewed regularly and maintained in the warehouse environment
- Work closely with the UK teams and wider GPB Europe to delivery a high quality end to end service to the customer
- Any other duties commensurate with this role
Skills and competencies and qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Inventory Planner or similar role
- Substantial experience working with Sales / Marketing FMCG, in both online and offline environment
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Well developed organisational and planning skills
- Highly effective communicator and presentation skills
- Excellent team player
- Good leadership and people management skills
- Strong Analytical skills with great attention to detail
- Data driven with an ability to present data in an engaging way
- Computer literate with experience working with SAP and MS Office
- Good awareness of health and safety in the warehouse environment
- Forklift truck driver is advantageous but not essential
- Physically fit with the ability to lift packages of approx. 20 kg
- Self-starter dedicated to continuous improvement
