Our purpose is to enhance human experiences through live-fire cooking.

About the Role

Gozney is seeking a Senior Product Engineer (Sustaining) to play a pivotal role in the post-launch health, performance, and continuous improvement of our product portfolio. This role owns the technical investigation, resolution, and lifecycle improvement of in-market products. You will lead root cause investigations, define and help implement corrective actions, and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Customer Experience, and our Asian manufacturing partners to improve reliability, quality, cost, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

  • Product Sustaining and Issue Resolution
    • Own technical investigations for in-market products, including production issues, field failures, warranty claims, and customer returns.
    • Lead robust root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods.
    • Define, implement, and validate corrective and preventive actions to address quality, reliability, safety, and performance issues.
    • Ensure fixes are fully verified and documented prior to release into production.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
    • Act as the primary technical interface between Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Customer Experience for sustaining topics.
    • Work closely with global manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve issues and help implement improvements.
    • Clearly communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Continuous Product Improvement
    • Identify and deliver ongoing product improvements to enhance performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost.
    • Support cost-down activities through technical review, quality oversight, and validation, while contributing improvement ideas and ensuring safety, quality, and user experience are upheld.
    • Review existing designs and documentation to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Verification, Validation, and Risk Management
    • Define verification strategies for sustaining changes and lead validation activities.
    • Contribute to and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R documentation for in-market products.
    • Support post-launch monitoring and early-life issue tracking for new products.
  • Documentation and Process Discipline
    • Produce clear, high-quality engineering documentation, including investigation reports, test plans, specifications, drawings, and SOP updates.
    • Ensure changes are accurately released through the appropriate change control processes.
    • Maintain high standards of data integrity, traceability, and technical clarity.
  • Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to sustaining and junior engineers.
    • Share best practices in investigation, validation, and sustaining engineering methods across the team.
    • Contribute to building consistent, scalable sustaining engineering processes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Significant experience in a sustaining, manufacturing, or product support engineering role within a consumer, automotive, industrial, or regulated product environment.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and post-launch issue resolution.
  • Proven experience taking engineering changes from investigation through to validated implementation in production.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly metal fabrication, castings, and assembly-led products.
  • Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Comfortable interpreting data, test results, and field feedback to drive engineering decisions.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, structured reports and documentation.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical issues clearly.
  • Naturally organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable holding ownership in ambiguous situations.
