We are looking for an Associate to join our Commercial, Development & Investment team. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider team in providing advice to developers and institutional property investors on UK-wide development projects and investments.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Assisting on acquisitions and disposals of investment assets
- Working with the team on development projects
- Lettings and asset management work
- Drafting and negotiating certificates of title and title reports, agreements for lease and surrenders, leases, deed of variation, side letters and associated documentation
- Managing the process on large portfolio acquisitions, financings and disposals, including enquiries and CPs, with colleagues and other firms
- Organising online sale portals and new client set up and overseeing and supervising juniors in uploading documentation, organising folders and naming conventions
- Working with clients, taking instructions, keeping clients informed and running transactions
- Business development, including delivering client training, preparing client alerts and other value add elements of client relationship building
- Dealing with compliance requirements and fee estimates, ensuring timely billing and assisting in the collection of bills as necessary
- Any other reasonable duties delegated by any Partner, Senior Manager or Practice Operations Manager of the firm.
About You
- Confident, technically strong and dynamic qualified lawyer with commercial investment and development real estate experience that can fit into a busy team with demanding clients
- Manage your own caseload to tight deadlines, remain calm under pressure and prioritise your workload effectively
- Work collaboratively in a team environment (which may involve working as part of a bigger project team) and support your colleagues
- Give clear, practical advice with sound judgement and swift, accurate implementation of instructions
- Negotiate effectively and deliver commercial solutions for our clients
- Take ownership of matters, keeping clients and supervisors updated
- Communicate appropriately and effectively at all levels within the team and the wider business as well as with clients, agents and other parties
- Delegate where appropriate and supervise and mentor more junior fee earner team members
- Good research skills and presentation of findings in an easily digestible format
- Keen interest in use and development of legal technology and AI
