Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. We currently have a turnover of over £50 million making us a major employer in the region with approximately 1,000 staff.

The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Tutor/Assessor with a health and social care background to join our highly successful and professional team, operating within GCS Training, the commercial branch of the College.
- Full time (37 hours per week)
- Permanent
- Jubilee Court Campus (Fforestfach)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver assessments across a range of courses ensuring schemes/records of work, assignment schedules, are appropriate to the syllabus content and awarding body standards
- Plan and deliver up to 12 hours per week of classroom training to learners as required
- Ensure training and assessment strategies and materials are planned and accessible to meet the varied needs of all learners
About you:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in relevant sector
- TAQA Assessor Award or willing to work towards
- Commercial knowledge, experience and understanding of industry, including training needs
- Able to work on own initiative

If you do not hold an assessing qualification, Gower College Swansea are proud to offer support and guidance to successful candidates to achieve their award / certificate in assessing under the TAQA qualifications framework. This is achieved via the college’s in house continuous professional development facility.
If you hold a D32/D33/A1 Assessor award qualification, we would love to hear from you! These are still valid and recognised qualifications. Gower College Swansea are able to offer update training to successful candidates to refresh your assessor qualification.

Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales.
