The role: To work within Engineering and as part of our Learner Experience team. You will be responsible for supporting learners in a pastoral role, supporting target setting, motivation and attitude to learning whilst monitoring learner attendance, work output and attitude to learning. You will also be responsible for group delivery of all aspects of the tutorial programme, including mandatory material (e.g. safeguarding) and learner wellbeing material. Full time (37 Hours) Fixed Term (Maternity cover until June 2026) £28,387 – £30,850 per annum Tycoch Campus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-to-one meetings with all allocated learners throughout the academic year, deploying appropriate interventions and target setting to address underperformance.
  • Deliver high quality tutorial sessions, which support the development of wider skills to support academic progress and progression to the next level of study, apprenticeship provision, employment or HE. This will include delivery of all aspects of the tutorial Scheme of Work, including mandatory and wellbeing programme material.
  • Address learner behaviour concerns in a timely manner in accordance with college policies and procedures, deploying appropriate interventions and recording actions taken.
  • Develop a culture of positive recognition of learner achievement within the Learning Area through the organisation of various reward initiatives e.g. high attendance recognition system.

About you:

  • Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to different groups of people e.g. young people, parents, external organisations, academic staff.
  • Ability to define clear boundaries when working closely with young people.
  • Ability to use initiative and prioritise.
