About the Role
As a Team Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Investigating safety and performance-affecting incidents
- Maintaining and repairing rolling stock
- Supporting the continuous improvement of our engineering operations
- Working closely with your Team Leader and the Head of Engineering's team to ensure our trains are maintained to the highest standards
- Coaching and mentoring others
- Contributing to data-driven improvements across the business
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs in line with the maintenance plan and your grade
- Diagnosing faults and rectifying defects efficiently and safely
- Leading or supporting safety investigations in line with company standards
- Ensuring full compliance with safety systems, procedures and regulations
- Accurately updating maintenance records using company systems
- Communicating defects and risks promptly to your Team Leader
- Providing coaching and mentoring to support team development
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Analysing performance trends and maintenance requirements
- Collaborating closely with the Head of Engineering's team
- Undertaking all duties appropriate to Team Technician level where trained and competent
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
- Ability to meet job-specific medical and safety competency requirements
- Willingness to undertake coaching and mentoring qualifications
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, GTR rolling stock
- A proactive, safety-first mindset at all times
- Commitment to learning new skills and keeping up to date with modifications, software and systems
