Role Summary
This role partners across Govia Thameslink Railway's ("GTR") Train Service Directorate ("TSD") to influence and instil best practice throughout the business administration professionals. The Southern and Gatwick Express, and Thameslink and Great Northern Senior Leadership Teams are key stakeholders for this role and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, efficient support service is vital to achievement of business priorities and the smooth operation of GTR. The Business Support Manager drives productivity improvements and cost savings across GTR through tight procurement and budget control whilst identifying and introducing process improvements, resulting in increased output for managers and admin across the brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Possession of excellent business support and administration skills.
- Experienced in guiding a team to deliver high levels of customer service for the SNGX community against demanding performance targets.
- Provide subject matter expertise in supporting the management and development of the business support team.
- Key areas of delivery include engagement, talent management and driving skills improvements.
- Responsible for procurement action across the TSD, including maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to effectively manage contracts, driving and delivering year on year cost savings and efficiencies.
