About governr
governr is the AI control infrastructure for regulated industries, with a primary focus on financial services, healthcare and government. We give enterprises the visibility, control, and audit trail they need to deploy AI agents responsibly. Our platform covers AI discovery and inventory (AI Atlas), continuous monitoring and action auditing, and full decision accountability records. As regulatory pressure on AI grows, and AI adoption accelerates this creates increasing material business risk and regulatory scrutiny, and governr is purpose built to help these firms respond.
The Role
We're looking for our first Product Manager. This is a hands-on position working directly with the founders and engineering team to shape what we build and why. You'll own the roadmap, stay close to customers, and help us make the right calls in a fast-moving market.
What you'll do
- Own the product roadmap across all three phases of the governr platform.
- Spend real time with financial services, and regulated sector customers and prospects, developing a deep understanding of the business risks and pressures they face and what good looks like for a CRO, CIO, COO.
- Translate customer pain into clear product direction, working out what to build, what to defer, and what to drop.
- Drive day-to-day delivery, keeping the team moving at pace while managing client expectations and making sure ambitious commitments are met without cutting corners on quality. This includes coordinating with near-shore engineering resource, so experience working across distributed teams is important.
- Drive prioritisation clearly, because at seed stage every sprint matters.
- Define and track the metrics that tell us whether what we're building is working.
- Support customer conversations, demos, and sales where needed.
- Build out the product function including the processes, rituals, and tooling that can scale to 1000+ customers globally with an aggressive plan.
What we're looking for
- Early-stage experience, having worked at a startup before and knowing what it's like when there's no playbook.
- Strong technical depth, enough to understand how audit trails are constructed, how agent actions are captured, and how the platform integrates with enterprise environments. You won't write code, but you'll be expected to get close to the detail and hold your own with engineers and technical customers.
- Financial services background, or deep familiarity with how FS firms buy, procure, and adopt new technology. You need to understand risk concepts of these firms and speak credibly to stakeholders.
- B2B SaaS background, understanding how enterprise software gets bought and used, and experience with products where the buyer and end user are often different people.
- Strong written communication, able to write a crisp spec or brief without it needing three follow-up meetings.
- Genuine customer curiosity, comfortable in customer calls rather than just reading the summary afterwards.
- Comfort with ambiguity, because the roadmap will change, the market will surprise us, and you're energised by that.
Useful but not essential
- Experience in AI, governance, compliance, or RegTech.
- Awareness of the EU AI Act, FCA guidance, NIST, MIT, ISO 42001, Agent Security or similar frameworks.
Why join
AI controls are shifting from a nice-to-have immature standard to a core regulatory and business risk management requirement, and financial services firms are at the sharp end of that. You'd be the first dedicated PM at a company solving a problem that's commercially urgent and genuinely interesting. Sharp team, high trust, and direct access to founders and customers from day one. We're building AI agents directly into the product, and this role will help shape how we do that. You'll need to be comfortable working alongside agentic systems, thinking through how they interact with users, and helping us make sensible decisions about where automation should and shouldn't be applied. If you want to own a product that matters, in a market that's moving fast, with a rapidly growing client base and help build something significant from the ground up, you're in the right place.
