Who we are
governr is the system of record for AI in regulated financial services, healthcare and government. The independent control layer above security tools, GRC point tools and foundation models. Buyers are CROs, CISOs, and Heads of AI at banks, PE firms, wealth managers and insurers. Their problem is concrete: AI is doing material work in their firms and they don't have a control infra to manage material business risks, regulatory exposures and deployments with confidence.
Forward Deployed Engineers sit inside that problem. You lead with client teams during the AI Atlas sprint, turn their environment into working deployments of governr, and enable them to scale their AI deployments. You are equal parts engineer, domain consultant and product input channel.
What you'll do
- Lead technical delivery of Atlas Program engagements: discovery against the client estate, mapping AI systems and digital workers to our 60 risk factors and 80+ agent-specific controls, producing the board-ready output.
- Deliver integrations into client stacks: cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), identity (Okta, Entra), security signal producers (Wiz, CrowdStrike, Noma), GRC (OneTrust, Vanta), and foundation model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock, Palantir).
- Translate regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, FCA PS26/2, DORA, FINRA 25-07, SS1/23) into deployed controls inside the platform, working with the regulatory and product teams.
- Run the agent moments live in client environments: surface orphaned agents, quantify exposure, and walk a CRO through what they're actually looking at.
- Feed the product roadmap. You see what works in the room and what breaks at deployment and what our clients demand in addition to excel.
- Own technical relationships post-deployment. You are the engineer the client trusts.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years engineering experience, ideally with at least one stint in a customer-facing or deployment role (FDE, solutions engineer, delivery engineer, technical consultant).
- Strong Python or TypeScript. Comfortable across cloud APIs, IAM, and event-driven architectures. You can read a Terraform stack and a CloudTrail log and tell us where the AI is hiding.
- Track record of shipping integrations against messy enterprise environments, not just clean greenfield builds.
- Credibility in front of senior technical and risk stakeholders. You can hold a room with a CISO and a Head of Model Risk in it. Security and risk fundamentals are essential.
- Bias to operating in ambiguity. Engagement sprints are always scoped, but never tidy. It's our job to get this all over the line and help them.
- Financial services background, bonus: prior work on agentic, model risk.
What you'll get
- Founding-team-adjacent seat. You work directly with the CEO, CPO, and CTO, and you are in front of clients from week one.
- A category is being built in real time. Control infrastructure for AI is the Wiz-for-cloud parallel we are early and the structural moat is real.
- Competitive salary, equity, and the seed-stage upside to match.
- Real clients with real pain. PE funds, mid-tier banks, insurers and wealth managers across the UK, EU, and US.
