governr is creating the foundational risk infrastructure for the AI economy – the frameworks, standards, and quantification models that will define how AI systems are assessed, trusted, and adopted globally.
We're looking for a Chief of Staff who can operate at founder-level intensity and turn complex strategy into executed reality.
The Role:
You'll work directly with the founders to build and scale the company during its most formative stage. This is a true "right hand" role – you'll be in every critical conversation, shape key decisions, and execute on initiatives that define the company's trajectory.
What You'll Own:
Strategic Execution
● Translate the company vision into executable plans with clear deliverables
● Drive critical cross-functional projects from conception to completion
● Build frameworks, processes, and systems as we establish the category
● Own high-impact initiatives that directly shape our market position
Growth
● Support the development of the execution strategy
● Engage directly with partners and key stakeholders
Business Operations & Analytics
● Design scalable systems and operational workflows
● Build financial models and track critical business metrics
● Synthesise complex information and drive data-informed decisions
● Ensure seamless execution across all company initiatives
Communication & Stakeholder Management
● Produce high-quality strategic documents rapidly
● Represent governr in meetings with partners, and advisors
● Manage relationships with external stakeholders and advisors
● Create alignment across internal teams and external partners
Who You Are:An Elite Generalist
● You can build a financial model, create an investor pitch, design workflows, and write strategy documents – all in the same day
● You have strong commercial instincts and understand business fundamentals
● You're comfortable with ambiguity and figure things out independently
● You take ownership naturally – you don't wait to be told what to do
With High Standards
● Your work product consistently exceeds expectations
● You move fast without sacrificing quality
● You can produce in hours what takes others days
● You see inefficiency and instinctively optimise it
Who Thrives in Dynamic Environments
● You perform best in fast-moving, evolving situations
● You can context-switch without losing momentum
● You make decisions with imperfect information and iterate quickly
● You've succeeded in high-pressure, high-stakes environments
Enjoys People-to-People
● You read rooms and adapt your communication style effectively
● You build credibility and trust quickly with diverse stakeholders
● You balance assertiveness with emotional intelligence
Self-Driven & Resilient
● You're intrinsically motivated by the mission and the work
● You create your own structure and don't need micromanagement
● You're responsive and engaged because you care about outcomes
● You go the extra mile because you want to win
Your Background:
Experience Profile (one of these paths):
Path 1: Elite Professional Services + Operating Experience
● 2-3 years at top-tier firm (Bain/BCG/Accenture, Goldman/JPM, etc.)
● 2-3 years at a high-growth startup or in an operating role
● You learned rigorous thinking and execution, then learned to build
Path 2: Early-Stage Operator
● Early employee (top 30) at a startup that achieved traction
● Wore multiple hats across functions – commercial, operations, strategy
● You've experienced the chaos of building from scratch and thrived
Path 3: Investor Turned Operator
● 2-3 years in private equity, venture capital, or growth equity
● Transitioned to an operating role because you want to build, not analyse
● You understand business models deeply and can execute
Path 4: Unconventional but Proven
● Non-traditional background that built discipline and execution capability
● Demonstrated track record of outstanding performance in business contexts
● You bring a unique and creative perspective that's been validated by results
Education:
● Top-tier undergraduate degree (unconventional is good too)
What We Offer:
Compensation:
● Competitive base salary (calibrated for early-stage company)
● Equity
● Performance-based bonus opportunity
● Transparent reality: Early-stage means sensible cash, higher potential upsides
Professional Growth:
● Direct access to founders and experienced advisors from MIT, Stanford, Columbia, Goldman, Hedge Funds, Fintech and AI entrepreneurs
● Exposure to every dimension of company building in a critical emerging category
● Accelerated learning curve – compress years of growth into months
● Clear path to senior leadership roles (COO, Head of, etc.)
Work Environment:
● High-trust, high-performance culture focused on outcomes
● Minimal bureaucracy and politics – we're here to build
● Flexible work arrangements (location flexible, results-oriented)
● Have fun while we create together
● Collaborative team that values both independence and teamwork
Impact:
● Help define the risk standards for an entire industry
● Work on problems that matter – AI safety and governance at scale
● Build something from the ground up with category-defining potential
● Your contributions will be visible and material to company's success
