What will you be doing?
School governors oversee the strategic management of a school and make decisions on various issues. Governing boards include representatives from the school, parents, local authority, and community.
The core responsibilities include:

- Supporting the Head Teacher as a ‘critical friend’
- Monitoring and evaluating school progress
- Managing budgets
- Planning and overseeing school improvements
- Setting school aims and values
- Appointing senior staff, including the Head Teacher
