Qualifications
  • Must be over 18 and willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Professional skills such as HR, finance, law or project management are useful.
  • Soft skills: leadership, communication and problem-solving, a fresh perspective and lived experience within the community.
  • Experience: former governor or board-level experience, leadership and organisational experience, and knowledge of safeguarding is beneficial.
Responsibilities

As a Chair of Governors, you’ll operate at the head of a governing board, utilising strategic leadership skills to make decisions on a wide range of topics, aiming to improve education within the local community. You will support the Vice Chair and Clerk to ensure an effective, focused board, and help the board build its skills, knowledge and experience.
