The successful candidate will join a small specialist team to provide technical expertise and decision‑making support during the planning and delivery of technology projects. Reporting to the Senior Technical Project Lead, the postholder will play a critical role in successfully integrating new technical capabilities within a complex delivery environment operating at a range of security classifications.

The role provides a clear path for professional development, allowing you to strengthen your project management skill set alongside technical competencies.

  • Delivery of Project and Technical work, in support of the Project Manager.
  • Planning and managing system architecture change and moves to guarantee uninterrupted operational services.
  • Preparing and, at times, executing bespoke work packages and providing quality assurance of work.
  • Leading working‑level engagement with contractors, security, commercial, and wide stakeholders in support of project deliverables.
  • Reporting errors to either the Project Manager or the Contractor, as appropriate, to ensure that issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Taking responsibility for project documentation, including maintaining the project risk register, to ensure effective risk management and mitigation.
  • Assisting with the financial management of projects, including providing necessary support for valuation assessments.

Crisis Working: Part of the work of the team is crisis focused and there will be times when staff are required to occasionally work longer and some unsociable hours (often at short notice) for which Cabinet Office overtime policy will apply.
