Effective data protection ensures GPA’s data operations are efficient and undertaken in a legally responsible manner. It embraces assuring the full lifecycle of our information assets are managed from creation to deletion, including access and control in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations. As a ‘digital first’ organisation, strong Information governance is critical for the GPA to support analysis, decision making and future decisions.

This role will lead good practices across all GPA Directorates supporting the business with data protection services in order to ensure compliance, accuracy, quality and completeness in our decision making to deliver an optimal property experience to our stakeholders, clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the maintenance of GPA’s suite of data protection policies and procedures (including control and management frameworks) in accordance with wider Cabinet Office and ICO policy
  • Maintenance of the ROPAs and wider Information Asset Registers across GPA directorates
  • Undertaking internal audits of GPA’s data protection practices
  • Undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessment and establishing Data Sharing Agreements
  • Working as part of a team to respond to subject access requests and data breaches.
