The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) is seeking a recruitment assistant. The opportunity sits within the Directorate of Corporate Services which is responsible for the effective delivery of Corporate Services to MCA. Corporate Services includes Communications, IT, Procurement, Finance, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Internal Audit and Assurance, Programme Management Office, and Property & Facilities. Human Resources is a key enabling function responsible for the planning and delivery of the MCA's People Strategy and a full range of HR services including Organisational Design and Development, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Volunteer support, Reward and Resourcing, Planning and Governance.

As the Recruitment Assistant, you will work with all directorates of the MCA, candidates, and the Strategic Projects Recruitment team to provide effective and efficient administrative and organisational support in the delivery of the MCA’s vacancy holder led recruitment service. You will ensure that all recruitment is compliant to MCA and Department for Transport (DfT) processes and wider Civil Service Recruitment Principles.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Providing recruitment campaign support, including processing of new vacancy notifications, organisation of assessments including sending invites, inputting data and outcomes for managed campaigns, and obtaining ID across the relevant Directorates.
- Working with the team to ensure that all service provided across the MCA is consistent and in line with strategic goals.
- Administration of candidate onboarding and supporting on the facilitation of new starter medicals in line with MCA policy, liaising with the Occupational Health provider as required.
- Maintaining relevant data trackers and documentation to ensure quality of service.
- Preparing monthly reports from relevant sources/systems.
- Adhering to and maintaining recruitment documentation and processes in line with requirements.
- Maintaining the shared inbox, responding to queries within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and escalating where appropriate.
- Acting as independent member of assessment boards when required.
