We deliver money on time and in the form that best works for our citizens so that they can use it to help address their specific needs.
This role represents a unique opportunity to join the Digital Payment Services team at DWP Digital. We’re looking for a driven and passionate Application Engineer who can build digital capability, lead complex product delivery, and deliver successful outcomes on the Central Payment System (CPS) Application Development Work Programme which includes changes that are critical to initiatives across Digital while supporting the build of modern services which reimagine the payments landscape.
As an Application Engineer, you will be a skilled Practitioner and a role model in Application operations. Responsible for ensuring best practices are adhered to across the department and guiding teams on how to deliver quality Applications.
You will assist in the design of Application services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. With a focus on operational stability, robustness, resilience, availability and quality you will be accountable for Application solutions. Specifically, you will be working on the Central Payments System, a customised Oracle e-Business suite application that supports Payments and Accounting for the Departments Benefits systems, you will be required to maintain, support and develop some complex customisations and interfaces to the core Oracle system.
Your responsibilities will include but are not restricted to, the following:
- Lead the delivery of quality software.
- Provide technical support on a specific application; Oracle e-Business Suite.
- Provide SME input into systems integrations and architecture.
- Identify and support the resolution of infrastructure faults.
- Taking full ownership of maintaining and updating technical documentation and associated processes.
It would be beneficial to have experience in any of the following:
- Config Management
- Java
- Node JS
- Mongo DB
- Oracle Advanced Queues (Streams)
