We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Video Producer to join the Prime Minister’s digital team at 10 Downing Street. This is a rare opportunity to lead the development of compelling video content that informs, engages, and connects with millions across the UK.

As the senior video producer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our video strategy – driving forward the Prime Minister’s Plan for Change narrative through high impact video storytelling, translating government priorities into powerful visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

You will lead the full production lifecycle, from concept development and stakeholder engagement to delivery and performance analysis, ensuring every piece of content meets the highest standards of creativity, clarity, and impact.

You will manage a team of videographers providing editorial direction, mentoring, and resource planning. Working closely with the Chief Videographer and wider communications teams, including press, strategy, and events. You will ensure video output is timely, audience-focused, and aligned with broader government messaging.

This is a role for someone who can combine creative vision with operational delivery – driving ideas, spotting new opportunities, and bringing them to life in ways that cut through and resonate with audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Chief Videographer to shape and deliver a video strategy that covers both the Prime Minister’s and No.10’s channels – balancing compelling moments that showcase the PM with impactful, everyday stories that build connection and trust.
  • Lead on a video approach that uses real voices, vox pops, and creator-led content to speak directly to priority audiences, building on our audience segmentation work to produce meaningful, relatable video content that reflects people’s real experiences and strengthens trust in government.
  • Champion best practice and spot emerging digital trends to feed into the video strategy.
  • Line manage and oversee the day-to-day work of videographers, setting clear objectives‑ and driving continuous development.
  • Own projects end-to-end‑ – from idea generation and stakeholder engagement through to filming, editing, publishing and evaluation.
  • Push the team to deliver shortform, ‑social first‑ video optimised for different platforms and audiences.
  • Collaborate across digital, policy, press and creative teams to ensure content is timely, accurate and impactful.
  • Execute high-level‑ filming, editing, colour grading and audio mixing to the highest standards.
  • Ensure all output meets tone, branding and accessibility guidelines.
  • Contribute creative thinking to drumbeat and set video pieces, helping shape the long-term‑ visual identity of the Prime Minister online.
  • Lead on delivering the livestreams working with external delivery partners to ensure that they are high-quality and accessible.
