Home Office Digital designs, builds and develops services for the rest of the department and for government. Every year our systems support up to 3 million visa applications, checks on 100 million border crossings, up to 8 million passport applications and deliver 140 million police checks on people, vehicles and property.
To enable this, we have specialist technical recruiting teams (called Accelerator Cells) each headed up by a Lead Technical Recruiter. The role involves proactive head-hunting, promotion of roles on digital channels, engagement with candidates, a strong focus on delivering at pace and a passion for finding excellent candidates. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and be part of attracting, sourcing and recruiting top tech talent for Home Office Digital.
The role involves engaging confidently with senior HO Digital colleagues and recruitment service partners, communicating information proactively and succinctly and in line with policies and processes. The Accelerator Cell team is currently made up of 28 roles, covering marketing, head-hunting, campaign management and support, governance and reporting. This role will lead a small team to deliver at pace and scale, work flexibly, problem solve, make effective decisions, possess strong reasoning capabilities, be able to prioritise and be an effective and organised multi-tasker. The role reports to the Head of Accelerator Cells (Grade 6) and typically has 1-2 direct reports.
Key responsibilities- Responsibility for the external recruitment lifecycle, head-hunting the best talent, and ensuring management information is accurate and well maintained.
- Proactively identifying and assessing new talent using a variety of methodologies and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Proactively supporting ideas to enhance our external-facing digital media content.
- Raising visibility in the job market by sharing role opportunities and providing insight into the work we do, positively impacting hiring new talent at pace and to the required quality.
- Keeping up to date with digital, data and technology market intelligence will be essential, using this insight to inform recruitment strategies and guide senior hiring managers on the candidate market.
- Building relationships with active and passive external candidates, HO Digital hiring managers and HO recruitment service partners.
- Providing expert guidance on the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, supporting hiring managers, panels and candidates on the policies and principles that govern civil service recruitment.
- Participating in regular reviews of the Accelerator Cell operating model and team roles and responsibilities to identify and deliver improvements and efficiencies.
- Working collaboratively with team members to deliver HO Digital’s recruitment targets, meet demand, and continuously improve service to candidates and internal customers.

Working pattern: Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
