Join DVSA’s Digital & Data directorate as a Senior Performance Analyst, working within the Information Management, Security and Data community to turn data into decisions that keep Britain moving safely and sustainably. As part of the wider DVSA data team, you’ll collaborate with service owners across DVSA to define “what good looks like” and provide governance and assurance for high-quality analytics. You’ll work closely with product, policy and enforcement teams, shaping frameworks and standards that raise analytical quality across the Agency. This role combines technical expertise with strategic influence, ensuring insights drive operational improvements and policy outcomes. Based in one of our digital hubs you’ll join a supportive, high-performing team that values curiosity, clarity and impact—making this an exciting opportunity to contribute to DVSA’s mission and the future of data‑driven decision‑making.

Develop and adapt performance measurement frameworks (KPIs, goals, benefits) to assess DVSA services and products. Analyse quantitative and qualitative data from different sources, through proficiency with analytical tools, and user feedback to deliver actionable insights through compelling storytelling. Collaborate with delivery teams to define success, ensure data accuracy, and support evidence‑based decisions. Lead projects, promote best practice across the digital community, and contribute to our data strategy.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Be responsible for collecting relevant and accurate data from digital and offline sources based on user requirements.
- Use analytical tools (e.g. Google Tag Manager, GA4 (Google Analytics), Power BI, SQL, Qualtrics) to collect, analyse, visualise and provide insight into the performance of a digital service or product.
- Be responsible for producing accurate, engaging and actionable analysis of online and offline data sources to derive priority user needs and user behaviour.
- Be responsible for providing insight and recommendations to stakeholders for action based on user data in easily understandable and engaging ways - such as show and tells, reports and dashboards.
