The Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service (IRIS) is part of the Counter Fraud, Compliance and Debt Directorate (CFCD) and is a great place to work. The Planning, Governance and Reporting Team is a functional area that sits at the heart of the IRIS community. As a senior leader in a high-profile area, the role requires extensive colleague and stakeholder engagements ensuring the IRIS delivery plan, reporting data and governance accurately describes and reflects the work underway, on the backlog, to do, and the value IRIS brings.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • You will support the Planning, Governance and Reporting function and may have some supervisory responsibilities for junior team members.
  • As a Planning, Governance and Reporting Officer, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and upkeep of products that track IRIS demand, supply, and the benefits delivered and planned.
  • Your work will help describe IRIS’ collective activities that support DWP in its Fraud and Error response.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive service delivery through effective planning.
  • Report on IRIS value, including contributing to the development and maintenance of an IRIS Dashboard.
  • Implement governance controls to ensure IRIS risk initiatives comply with security standards and that documentation is stored and reviewed as needed.
  • Contribute to managing IRIS demand and workflow into the team.
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators and success measures.
  • Assist in maintaining the IRIS ‘business case’, including monitoring benefits realisation and making this data visible and accessible.

You will also:

  • Be a key contact for IRIS planning, governance, and reporting queries.
  • Work as part of a team with a range of skills and experiences, helping to foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Be comfortable working in areas of uncertainty, seeking guidance where needed and recognising the importance of teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, sharing updates and contributing to discussions.
  • Support and motivate team members, encouraging collective working and knowledge sharing.
  • Design and deliver products including the IRIS Delivery Plan, Delivery Roadmap, Risk Log, and Delivery Dashboard.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across teams to ensure products are accurate, up-to-date, and co-created as needed.
  • Show flexibility and adaptability, reprioritising and supporting the team to respond to changes in demand or direction.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop, contributing to the ongoing success and value of IRIS through effective planning, governance and reporting.

Key Deliverables:

  • Design and deliver the IRIS planning, governance and reporting agenda.
  • Collaborate closely with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders including, though not limited to CFCD and Policy to influence, sometimes persuade and negotiate future IRIS activities.
  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with others, amplifying IRIS value and ensuring all IRIS colleagues are pro-actively delivering outcomes.
  • Design, build and implement a strong set of IRIS performance measures including, value and benefits agreed with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Design and deliver regular planning reporting and governance show and tells, describing simply and accurately IRIS capability and service value.

Due to the geographically dispersed nature of this team, this role will require some travel and overnight stays.
