G

We are seeking a Learning and Capability Officer to join the Function’s growing Profession and Capability team. This is a great time to join the team as we have recently become a new government profession. We are designing and delivering an ambitious programme of learning and development (L&D) opportunities to support grant making capability across government, and the wider public sector.

Our L&D strategy includes:

  • Defining and championing the profession and professional identity for its members.
  • Completing and refining a comprehensive, entry-to-expert level training programme and recognised accreditations that drive continuous professional development.
  • Fostering collaboration and a supportive community culture—uniting the profession through the Community of Practice.
  • Attracting, developing and retaining skilled talent by creating an environment where potential is maximised, expertise shared and a clear career pathway is defined.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a critical role, helping support the future development and success of a growing grants profession. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of the Grant Profession offer and delivery of high-quality learning interventions and products that address identified learning needs and to build engagement with the capability offer.

The post holder will be instrumental in supporting the smooth running, administration and organisation of key learning, networking and engagement events.

Key requirements of the post are as follows.

  • Work with SEOs to support the development of the Grants profession and its offer.
  • Deliver administrative and secretariat support across the team.
  • Provide organisational support for existing training programmes and engagement events.
  • Manage profession and training enrolments/registrations, monitor shared mailboxes, and resolve delegate queries to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Administration of the Grants Centre of Excellence website to maintain and develop content. Use creative skills to design and update digital content, news items and events as required. Perform regular content audits, and support site development to ensure a high-quality user experience.
  • Support the management of data capture and reporting. Maintain accurate databases and produce monthly performance dashboards to track profession metrics.
  • Creative design of promotional communication to keep stakeholders informed and increase engagement in the functions capability offer.
  • Respond to adhoc customer queries at pace
