If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Delivery Team Leader to join our Wales Field Operations Team.

Utilising your excellent interpersonal skills, you will provide leadership and line management to a multi-disciplinary team, with regular travel across Wales when required (expenses covered by Travel and Subsistence)
As the Delivery Team Leader (DTL), you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of resource to meet delivery requirements, while also being accountable for achieving all expected delivery targets. You will work closely with technical advisors to develop and assure high performance of team members.
This is a varied role, and you will have the flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks as the situation demands. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading a team of technical advisors to prevent the introduction of notifiable diseases and invasive species, safeguard animal welfare, and facilitate international trade.
- Prioritising resource and workloads across teams to maintain a quality service and delivery regulatory activities.
- Be accountable for maintaining collaborative relationships with Operational Partners and other Stakeholders.
- Be accountable for maintaining collaborative relationships with key teams with the Defra group family to help ensure regulatory activities are delivered correctly and consistently, and procedure and policy thinking is undertaken with understanding and evidence by our Operational teams.
- Providing leadership and direction to members of the delivery group, promoting collaboration and an emphasis on quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Support and participate in out of hours management rota.
Please note: This role requires regular travel across Wales, expenses will be covered by a travel and subsistence allowance, including some travel to attend training and face-to-face meetings, which may include overnight stays.
