We are looking for a recruitment operations leader to join the Recruitment Hub. We provide a recruitment service to Department for Transport (DfT) Group, which includes DfTc, DVSA, DVLA, MCA, VCA, and ATE. Joining our department comes with many benefits, including:

We have three operational services within the Recruitment Hub: Promotion & Sourcing, Capability & Compliance, and Standardised. We are looking for someone to lead the Standardised Recruitment Team. This team manages the delivery and improvement of our pre-prepared recruitment packages across DfT Group. These are campaigns that are frequently run with a standardised advert and marketing strategy, such as DVSA Customer Service Agents, DVLA Contact Centre roles, and MCA’s Maritime Operations Officers. We are a fast-paced team, and our purpose is to ensure that DfT is attracting the right candidates, in the right place, at the right time, to deliver the Department’s business and strategic agenda.
Responsibilities
- Leadership of the Standardised Recruitment team, supporting your team to deliver high quality recruitment campaigns at pace in line with business needs.
- You will have direct line management responsibility for 1 HEO and counter-signing responsibility for 1 EO.
- Ensuring that your team have the knowledge and skills to deliver an excellent and expert recruitment service to your customers.
- Quality checking team outputs and using data to ensure that your team is always delivering the required service and continuously improving.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with hiring managers and business units to understand their recruitment and strategic requirements, collaborating with them to identify new standardised package opportunities.
- Working with DfTc, DVLA, DVSA, VCA, MCA, and ATE to get annual and monthly recruitment forecasts.
- Use these to plan team workload and manage stakeholder expectations when necessary.
- Create and present quarterly service performance reviews to DfTc, DVLA, DVSA, VCA, MCA, and ATE, ensuring that they are happy with the service your team provides and identify areas for improvement.
- Review the success rate of recruitment campaigns that come through your team.
- Identify whether campaigns need alternative recruitment support and work with the other Service Leads to redirect campaigns to other operational recruitment teams as required.
- Ensure that hiring managers remain compliant throughout the recruitment process, following the Civil Service Commission Recruitment Principles, employment law, and other departmental policies and procedures.
