The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned areas at Yate Town Council venues. This role includes performing routine cleaning tasks, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and supporting overall facility cleanliness. Work under the guidance of the Estates Manager, or, in their absence, the Building Maintenance Supervisor or another person appointed by the Town Clerk.
Responsibilities
- Ensure YTC buildings are cleaned according to schedules to the required standard, including:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Dust and wipe surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and replenish supplies.
- Empty trash bins, dispose of waste properly, and replace liners.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report any repairs or replacements needed.
- Restock cleaning supplies and keep storage areas organized.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including the use of protective equipment.
- Perform deep-cleaning tasks as required (e.g., carpet cleaning, floor polishing).
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests promptly.
- Ensure all work areas are left secure and tidy.
