Overview
The governors of St Mary\’s Catholic Primary School seek to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, dynamic and creative teacher to join our dedicated and innovative team within a very happy, caring and inclusive school community. A practising Catholic teacher is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Be an effective and innovative teacher with experience of working in Key Stage 2
- Have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and its underpinning pedagogy, with a clear commitment to learner-centred, purpose-driven and progression-focused teaching approaches
- Understand and support the needs of Year 3 learners, including smooth transition from Foundation Phase and continuing to develop pupil independence
- Demonstrate high expectations of all learners
- Actively promote the school\’s ethos of inclusion and celebrate the diverse nature of our school
- Demonstrate very good communication skills with children, staff, parents and other professionals
- Be very competent in the use and development of digital technology
- Be an excellent team player
- Be confident in the delivery of the Welsh curriculum and promote bilingualism
