We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Payroll Pension Assistant to join our HR Recruitment and Transactional Team. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day administrative functions relating to LGPS, Teachers and NHS pension schemes. You will work closely with external organisations and HR colleagues and will serve as a key point of contact for Redcar and Cleveland BC employees, guiding them smoothly through their pension membership.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Check and amend member records
  • Create and submit monthly pension reports
  • Respond to queries from scheme members and external bodies via email, phone and online pension scheme portals
  • Complete pension forms (relating to new starters, leavers, opt-outs, estimates)
  • Calculate pension adjustments
  • Support year-end processes

Experience in public sector pension administration (ideally administering the LGPS) is required, along with:

  • An understanding of pension regulations
  • Excellent skills in using online portals such as the Teachers Pensions, NHS and LGPS
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical capabilities
  • The ability to decipher and modify pension data
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines when required
