About the role
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Events Assistant to join our Culture and Tourism Service at an exciting time of growth and ambition. This is a key role within the team, offering the opportunity to support and deliver an exciting programme of festivals and events that celebrate creativity, culture and place.
- Support in the planning and preparation of an annual outdoor events and cultural development programme.
- Undertake operational delivery of outdoor events and cultural projects as required, with working hours that include evenings and weekends.
- Liaise with client groups, traders and external organisations to ensure all relevant event paperwork is complete and assessed before events are staged.
- Support the Chair of the Independent Safety Advisory Group (ISAG) in the delivery of meetings, providing administrative support.
- Monitor events and event sites to ensure safe delivery, liaising with the Redcar and Cleveland ISAG, licensing teams, and other related internal and external partners as necessary.
- Contribute to the continued growth and profile of culture and tourism across the borough.
Qualifications
- Has experience of supporting and delivering outdoor events and festivals.
- Brings a good understanding and experience of working in events and the relevant legislation.
- Has experience of working with and maintaining strong relationships with external partners in particular event organisations and suppliers, cultural organisations and community organisations.
- Values partnership working and delivers creative, high‑quality outcomes.
- Is positive, forward‑thinking and passionate about culture and place‑making.
- Flexibility for occasional week nights and weekends when appropriate.
