Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) Parenting Practitioner in Redcar

Redcar and Cleveland are seeking to recruit an EPEC Parenting Practitioner to join their established parenting team who deliver high quality parenting support and interventions to parents of children and young people. The postholder will support the manager to develop and plan the establishment of our new EPEC Parenting Hub, as well as assisting in the recruiting and training of parent volunteers who will facilitate the EPEC groups. You will receive training in this evidence-based intervention, so previous experience of the programme is not essential; however previous experience of delivering parenting group interventions is essential. EPEC training at a train the trainer level will be provided and the post-holder will be responsible for rolling that training out to the parent volunteers, alongside other colleagues from the Family Hubs and parenting team. This will also include providing oversight and supervision to the parent group facilitators once the programmes are up and running. You will work within the experienced parenting and Family Hubs team who are already delivering successful parenting interventions and trained in these other programmes as well as EPEC. You will build and maintain high quality professional relationships with families, schools and other professionals, to plan parenting groups and ensure that the interventions provided to the parents will meet the needs of their families and enable them to make positive changes within their lives. You will need to have experience in delivering parenting support groups or interventions with children and families.
