This is an exciting opportunity to lead in the delivery of all productions at our three cultural venues; Gala Durham, Empire Consett and Bishop Auckland Town Hall, as well as on the festivals and events programme across County Durham. You will provide leadership for a multiskilled technical team to ensure the delivery of the programme at the three venues as well as for the festivals and events programme. You will ensure that all events receive appropriate technical support throughout, and that the technical team delivers a first‑class service in terms of operation of technical equipment. You will ensure that effective working relationships are developed and maintained with internal and external partners, organisations, customers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 5 or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- Significant experience of working in a theatre technical department and thorough knowledge of lighting, sound and AV control systems including configuring and operating.
- Proven ability to motivate and supervise a team.
- Experience in the use and operation of counterweight flying systems, rigging and working at height.
- A detailed knowledge of theatre practice and how it relates to backstage operations.
- A good knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostics within technical systems.
