We are seeking a proactive and committed Dog Warden Operative to help protect public safety, promote responsible dog ownership, and safeguard animal welfare across the borough. You will enforce dog control legislation, investigate complaints relating to stray or dangerous dogs, fouling, noise nuisance and anti‑social behaviour, and take appropriate enforcement action.
You will be responsible for identifying, collecting and safely handling stray, abandoned or aggressive dogs, veterinary treatment and owner reunification through microchip scanning. You will also provide advice to the public, work with partners such as the police and our kennelling provision, and take part in education and awareness campaigns.
The role includes routine patrols, accurate record‑keeping, equipment maintenance and supporting initiatives such as borough‑wide microchipping programmes and engaging with officers on wider dog issues. A rewarding role for someone confident, compassionate and comfortable working independently in the community.
