Develop your career in a role where you’ll take the lead in delivering high quality, patient focused diagnostic services. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist with extensive experience in Blood Transfusion, you will lead a team of specialist biomedical scientists and support staff, applying advanced scientific knowledge, methods and technology to the investigation of blood samples. Your expertise will guide clinical diagnosis and the management of disease, while ensuring the safety of the island’s blood supply for the benefit of islanders’ health.

Working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, you will lead a team performing a broad range of blood transfusion laboratory analyses on patients’ and donors’ samples. You will provide expert advice on appropriate techniques, contributing to clinical diagnoses, treatments and the evaluation of therapeutic interventions. Your leadership will help shape patient care and accelerate scientific progress.

You will also manage the blood transfusion and donation processing and testing workload through effective teamwork, ensuring urgent clinical needs and agreed turnaround times are consistently met, aligned to good manufacturing and transfusion best practice. Our Biomedical Scientists cover a range of services in blood sciences including haematology, clinical chemistry, blood transfusion and the Jersey Blood Donor Service.
