The Kitchen Assistant is an essential support role in the kitchen.
Duties:
- Washing and Sanitising: Cleaning pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, and cooking equipment.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Wiping down surfaces, sanitising prep stations, scrubbing walls, and sweeping or mopping floors.
- Waste Management: Emptying bins, managing recycling, and clearing out food waste.
- Deliveries and Stock: Supporting, as required in unpacking food and equipment deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping storage areas, walk-in fridges, and freezers organised.
- Basic Food Preparation: Assisting chefs with light tasks like peeling vegetables, washing produce, or portioning simple ingredients under supervision.
Skills:
- Hygiene and Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to food safety, COSHH (cleaning chemical safety), and sanitation guidelines.
- Time Management and Speed: Ability to juggle multiple
